lion king musical

popped over to marina bay sands yesterday with cheryl and sam to watch the lion king musical, and i must say, it was pretty impressive. the sets were very beautiful, and at almost every scene, there was so much to be looking out for that you could miss the main action altogether. the way the costumes were designed, to be so intricately made, and also the movements of all those who were masquerading as the characters. to say the least, it was very lifelike. (:

oh. and regarding the reviews, for those who said that perhaps the only memorable songs were 'circle of life' and 'can you feel the love tonight', they were probably right. other than that, the choral were mostly in African? but then again, it made for a more realistic musical!

haha i must say that somewhere during the opening of the first act, with all the lights suddenly dimmed and lit again, i really had no idea of what was going on. except for people who were turning their heads around, and rafiki pointing towards the back of the audience. it was an astonishing shock to see all the characters prancing down the aisle towards the stage... and to say that once was not enough was not an overstatement. beginning of act2 had the same thingum going on, and i must say i was confused once again. heh i never learn do i... ><

oh well it was really some fantabulous show at the very end of it, and i must admit, the vocal talents were really great too, especially that of the young nala. must say it was money well spent! on retrospect, i dont think that cat1 seats were that great, seeing as if it was wayyy too far front to see well enough, not to mention that you would need to keep staring upwards at the stage.. (:
